Here, they found 81 certified plant species, in addition to an endangered frog of the Pristimantis genus, which indicates the high degree of conservation. For the first time ever, this group of specialists was able to discover and classify the beautiful and imposing bromeliad, the Puya loca, endemic to the Tunjaque Cliff in Tierraleja.

Though more elusive and harder to see, an array of small mammals roam the preserve. Some include the coati (Nasuela), borugo (Aguti), fox (lycalopex), ocelot (leopardus), weasel (Mustela), mole (Neurotricus), rabbit (sylvilagus), and more. Sightings of the extremely shy venado soche (Mazama) have been reported but are extremely rare.
